Ann Megisikwe Filemyr, Ph.D. is an educator, poet, teacher and mentor. She was trained as a traditional healer by the late Keewaydinoquay Peschel, an Anishinaabeg Mashkikikwe (Ojibwe herbal medicine woman) in the Midewiwiin tradition of the northern Great Lakes. She has continued in this tradition for the past thirty five years, which informs her deep concern for healing the earth.
Ann Megisikwe is presently the Program Director of the Transformational Ecopsychology Certificate at Southwestern College in Santa Fe NM, where she also serves as Vice President and Dean of Academic Affairs.
Previously, she has held administrative and faculty positions at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe (2005-2014) and Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio (1990-2005). She is motivated in all her work by the understanding that we must transform our own lives in order to address our concerns for others and for the world we inhabit.
